Mission Statement: To enrich the lives of mature adults in the Jewish community and the community-at-large by offering educational, cultural, social and recreational opportunities where people of diverse backgrounds, cultures and beliefs gather in peace and understanding.

More than just an activity program, The Active Adult Program helps older adults "age in place" through a range of services geared to maintain independence, promote physical and emotional well-being, reduce isolation, foster relationships with people of all ages and maintain involvement in the community. These services include daytime programs at both the Oak Park and West Bloomfield JCC buildings, referral services, limited transportation and a bi-monthly newsletter highlighting community events and resources.

The Active Adult Program (TAAP) provides a comprehensive array of activities that nourish and stimulate the mind (current events, memory club, lectures), the body (dances, meals, health programs), the heart (music, reminiscing) and the spirit (holiday observances, lectures), as well as develop socialization (discussion groups, dances, trips). Older adults rely on staff and services for support as this is their home away from home.

TAAP also offers the Kosher Lunch Bunch, operated by Emerald Kitchen. Lunch is available at a nominal fee for seniors 65+, Monday through Friday, throughout the year at the JCC in Oak Park. This is the only government-subsidized kosher hot lunch site in Michigan.
