MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of our early childhood center is to provide a well-balanced, quality, developmental program that includes age appropriate educational and Judaic experiences and family involvement in a safe, warm, and loving environment.
PHILOSOPHY
For more than 45 years, children have been enrolled in early childhood programs at the Jewish Community Center. The Sarah & Irving Pitt Child Development Center’s philosophy is based on the belief that each child is unique and develops at his or her won rate. At the Center, your child will thrive in a Jewish environment that is rich in child-centered activities and filled with time for individual pursuits. We are dedicated to creating a total environment in which children are nurtured and challenged intellectually, emotionally, socially, spiritually and physically. We seek to create an atmosphere of acceptance in which the uniqueness of each child is respected. We believe that children are empowered when they are involved in decision-making and are given choices. Children are respected and treated with dignity.
DEVELOPING JEWISH IDENTITY
Jewish values and ethics curriculum, customs, holidays, Bible stories, Hebrew enrichment, Israel awareness and weekly Shabbat celebrations enhance and highlight learning experiences in the Pitt Child Development Center. Our goal is to provide an environment in which children come to appreciate their Jewish heritage and traditions through participation in a wide range of Center special events, including the Barbara & Douglas Matzah Factory, annual Jewish Book Fair, family programs and many other community activities.
