Center Day Camps at the JCC is located on more than 250 wooded acres and features indoor and outdoor pools, a fishing and boating pond, nature trails, Shalom Street Children’s Museum, a library with books for children of all ages, a ropes challenge course, Inline Hockey Center, basketball courts, playgrounds for every age, mini-golf, a zipline and gaga pits.

Center Day Camps is a place where kids can have the adventure of a lifetime as they make friends, splash in the pool on a summer day, learn a new skill, see a deer along a nature trail, enjoy a game of baseball, create a beautiful ceramic pot or have their faces painted as they get ready for color war.

We offer more than 100 camps so that children can choose exactly what they want to do. There are also field trips, outdoor activities, art, sports, theme days and a lot of fun surprises. Our goal is to provide children with the summer of their dreams in a safe, happy and nurturing environment. Each of our camps is guided by and infused with Jewish values of respect, compassion and understanding, making for a program like no other in Michigan.

SAFETY & ACCREDITATION
Center Day Camps is licensed by the State of Michigan and accredited by the American Camping Association, honors awarded only after a camp has undergone a rigorous evaluation that guarantees compliance with up to 300 safety, health and program quality standards, and agrees to regular, independent audits.

STAFF
Center Day Camps hires only the most responsible, experienced and caring staff. Every member of our team is trained in CPR and First Aid, and many staff members – including unit heads and senior counselors – are returning from last year.

CONVENIENCE
Campers who attend the core day program, 8:30 a.m-3:30 p.m., may take a Center Day Camps bus to camp and back to their pick-up address. This is a FREE service offered to families within our extensive bus route, and counselors are provided on every bus.

Center Day Camps provides AM and PM care (for an additional cost) from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 3:30-6 p.m. We offer camps that begin June 15 and continue all the way until Labor Day. Drop-off and pick-up are at the Teen Center (entry to the left of the main [flagpole] entrance to the Jewish Community Center).

NEW PROGRAMMING
Each year, Center Day Camps develops innovative programming for children of all ages. This year our program includes a new camp at the JCC’s Shalom Street, an interactive museum that allows children to experience life thousands of years ago, create a fabulous art project and learn about an entirely new culture. Other new camps include C.S.I, Animal Extravaganza, Alice in Wonderland and our Hebrew Immersion Camp!

JEWISH VALUES
Jewish tradition guides and enriches the Center Day Camps experience. Our program is one of caring, tolerance and compassion. Bullying is absolutely not allowed. Additionally, campers enjoy Shabbat celebrations on Friday, along with programs that introduce them to life in Israel.
