The Active Life
is a program of the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit which provides daytime activities for older adults at both the JPM and Kahn Buildings. The program, which is open to the community, includes concerts, health and personal enrichment lectures, films, dances, etc.
More than just an activity program, The Active
Life helps older adults "age in place" through a range of services geared to maintain independence, promote physical and emotional well-being, reduce isolation, foster relationships with people of all ages, and maintain involvement in the community. These services include the daytime programs, informal social work services, limited transportation coordination and a monthly newsletter highlighting community events and resources.
