Big Fish / Little Fish (Parent Tot)
(6-36 mos)
Log some water time with your baby or toddler in this class designed as
an introduction to the water. Instructors will lead you and your child
through games, songs and water exploration exercises that help your child
adapt to the water. Children started in this level are less likely to
fear the water and move quickly through the progressive learn to swim
levels.
Little Fishies (Preschool One)
(2 ½-6yrs)
Children will begin to learn some basic swimming skills while parents
learn how to work with children in the water. Kicking, blowing bubbles,
floating and beginning arm strokes are introduced in fun, new ways that
will have your kids excited about swimming. Parent MUST be in the water
during this class.
Red Fish (Level 1)
Swimmers will be introduced to movement and exercises that will
establish a comfort factor for future swimming skills. Red Fish will learn
how to
float and kick with support, proper life jacket use and safety rules that
are applicable both in the pool and at the lake.
Yellow Fish (Level 2)
Swimmers will draw on skills obtained from previous levels to learn the
fundamental skills of swimming. Instructors will teach participants how
to float
independently, how to hold their breath underwater and swim short distances
using front and back crawl movements. This level is a must for anyone
who wishes to develop skills for either recreational or competitive swimming.
Blue Fish (Level 3)
Blue fish takes a big step helping swimmers expand their overall proficiency
and abilities of swimmers and raising the expectations when it comes to
swimming skills. Participants will have to show improved skill and strength
with the front and back crawl strokes, along with a willingness to glide,
dive and swim underwater independently to complete this course. Rescue
positions both individually and with a group, jumping into deep water
without support and rescue breathing also will be introduced.
Silver Fish (Level 4)
Silver Fish swim full 25-yard lengths of the pool while improving front
and
back crawl strokes. Breaststroke kick, sidestroke and elementary backstroke
are introduced for the first time as well as treading water without a
flotation device. Included are an introduction to CPR and more diving
