Tamarack Camps and JCC Day Camps Announce Partnership
Tamarack Camps and JCC Day Camps are thrilled to announce an historic partnership. Beginning next summer, with a new managed services agreement in place, “JCC Day Camps will be Powered by Tamarack.” The organizations are convinced that the combination of their unique expertise, passion, and talent will create a day camp experience without parallel in the region and maybe the country.
The agreement between Tamarack and the JCC builds upon a national trend in Jewish communal organizations toward collaboration. According to Steve Engel, CEO of Tamarack Camps, “we can now take the best practices from both agencies and deliver a higher level of excellence in programming, staffing and facility enhancement.” JCC CEO, Brian Siegel agrees stating, “the synergy created by this partnership will bring the magic of Tamarack Camps to hundreds of more children in our community while acting as a model for inter-agency cooperation.”
The first move has been to hire a Senior Managing Director, Randy Comensky, who has over 20 years prior camp management experience in St Louis, Buffalo, and most recently Houston. Randy will work with seasoned JCC Day Camp Directors Jenny Morgan and Liam Grandidge. Jenny, a Tamarack alum, has extensive experience in the camping industry; and Liam, who hails from Manchester, England, started his camping career at Willoway Day Camp and has been a leader at the JCC Day Camps for several years.
Both agencies view this move as a boundless opportunity to better serve the Jewish community.
