FACILITY UPDATE // November, 7 2020 - 3PM E.S.T.
The indoor swimming pool and indoor track remain closed as COVID-19 cases in Oakland County have dramatically increased. The safety of our community is at the forefront of our decision as are the new restrictions put in place by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. We will keep you updated as the situation changes and look forward to seeing you at the JCC very soon.
FACILITY UPDATE // october 23, 2020 - 4PM E.S.T.
We have exciting news to share with you. The indoor pool and track will be opening soon!
After announcing the closing of the health club, the JCC created a committee comprised of past JCC fitness participants and chaired by Carol Eisenshtadt. Their directive is to explore new ways to offer fitness and wellness programming at the JCC. This committee determined that their number one priority is to open the indoor pool and track as soon as possible. We are pleased to announce that the pool and track will open the beginning of November with operations similar to the outdoor pool due to Covid. To better serve the community, the JCC has moved from an annual membership and will be using a “pay as you participate” model.
The pool and track will open with limited hours as we evaluate the needs. Watch for an email with additional information on pricing, hours, how to register, and safety rules and regulations.

Dear JCC Members and friends,
After lengthy discussions with the Oakland County Health Department, we regret to inform you that we are unable to open the pools at the JCC in a manner that will safely and practically meet the needs of our patrons.
We are closely monitoring the constantly changing regulatory environment with the hope of being able to open this important recreational resource as soon as possible.
We appreciate your support and ongoing patience.

APRIL 15, 2020 - 7PM E.S.T.
Dear friends and JCC Members:
The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and staff leadership team have made the difficult decision to close all JCC operations at the Kahn Building including the Pitt Child Development Center and the Florine Mark Sports and Fitness Complex (Fitness) until further notice.
This does not apply to tenant operations which may continue at their discretion in coordination with JCC leadership. We are doing so based on recommendations from local and national health organizations, and because we want to deepen the efforts to positively contribute and model proactive safety measures for our community. Jewish tradition teaches us the importance of feeling responsible for one another – Kol Israel arevim zeh bazeh.
Protecting the health and safety of our families and community members, along with fulfilling our responsibility to slow the spread of COVID-19 is of the utmost importance. This is a difficult decision, as we know the important role that the JCC plays in your lives. We are a special place where people of all ages and backgrounds gather, connect with one another, and improve their mental and physical wellness. It is a place where all people are welcomed, embraced, and cared for. That remains our mission.
In the coming days, we will be working to find creative online and virtual ways to keep connecting with our members to continue to support your social, educational and wellness needs.
We are also working hard to take care of our amazing JCC staff, the heart and soul of the Center in this challenging and uncertain time. We will do all we can do to provide them with support, and make it possible for them to be back in their positions as soon as possible. We greatly appreciate your commitment to the JCC and never take it for granted. As we determine next steps beyond our initial two week time frame, we will continue to stay in touch and keep you informed.
Additional information or changes will be sent out through our various communication channels. Follow us on facebook and check your email for the latest information.
Your patience is appreciated while we work to prioritize your health and safety, and the health and safety of our extended community. We will continue to re-evaluate operations on an ongoing basis as needed and strategically plan for how to best provide programs and services during the new “normal”.
Please continue to focus on the health and wellness for you and your family. Stay connected to community as best you can. Reach out to those who are alone and afraid and without social support. Provide reassurance and love to family and friends.
Thank you for being a vital part of our vibrant community.
Together we will overcome.
President of the Board of Directors
