Stephanie Zoltowski - Director, Department of Special Needs

Stephanie is responsible for all program activities within the JCC's Department of Special Needs.

Stephanie is a military veteran who worked as a police officer for the US Navy. Her specialties are mental health, professional development, and behavioral therapy for children with autism and other developmental and learning disabilities. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University and her master’s and doctorate degrees from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In addition to having seven years of teaching experience at universities and while in the military, Stephanie also has a variety of certifications including Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, Mental Health First Aid, Domestic Violence and Abuse Intervention, Anger Management Treatment Professional, and Behavioral Health.

David Sexton - Special Needs Coordinator

Dave is committed to youth and young adult empowerment, and fostering independence in individuals with disabilities. He is familiar with the JCC from working as a Special Needs Unit Head for two summers. He earned his bachelor's degree in Social Work from Oakland University. While attending Oakland, Dave gained experience in working with at-risk youth and the LGBT community. Having spent the last four years as a Job Coach and Para-educator, he hopes to blend his social work and education perspectives to provide the JCC members, and special needs community with high-quality activities and programs.
