Traditional Summer Camp

Traditional Summer Camp is for children 2-1/2 to 8 and is divided by age group. It runs in two four-week sessions.

Imagine providing your child with the best of everything summer camp has to offer–that’s our Traditional Camp! Each program offers an amazing variety of experiences, filled with new adventures and fun, including Red Cross-certified swim lessons, arts and crafts, sports, field days, music, field trips, canoeing and fishing, free swim, nature and gardening, mini-golf, ropes challenge course, drama, singing, talent shows, theme days and more.

Children in all Traditional Camp programs have the chance to participate in Color War, Carnival Day, Maccabi Games, Dress-up Day, Israel Day, Water Day, Sloppy Day, scavenger hunts, weekly pizza lunch and field trips.

A Typical Day at Traditional Camp

8:30-9 a.m.: Arrival

9-9:20 a.m.: Morning Spirit (Ruach)

9:30 a.m-12 p.m..: Morning Activities

12-12:30 p.m.: Lunch

12:30-3 p.m.: Afternoon Activities

3:10-3:25 p.m.: Afternoon Snack

3:30-4 p.m.: Departure


Age Groups

K’ton Ton

Two sessions, each four weeks long, with your choice of two or three half days (Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 9 a.m.-noon), two or three full days (Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.), five half days, or five full days.

This program gives our youngest children a day of delightful activities! Camp is held at the JCC’s Sarah & Irving Pitt Child Development Center with two playgrounds, one of which is home to a huge palm tree water sprinkler! Each day includes swim lessons, and both sessions offer an out-of-camp adventure.

  • Full-day participants receive free transportation, a nut-free kosher lunch and two snacks.
  • Participants in K’ton Ton must be potty trained.
  • Children not enrolled in the year-round CDC program must submit a copy of their birth certificates

2 ½-4 years old*

This program is incredibly fun and serves as the perfect transition for children about to enter Kindergarten and first grade. Chaverim includes swimming, arts and crafts, ropes program and a sleepover or late-night option. You may select from either three full days of camp (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) or five full days.
